The Phoenix Am 2005 contest has come and gone through the Arizona desert once again. The Amateurs are hungry - this year the contest filled up in record time! Brian Pino and the good guys from Cowtown Skateshop built some interesting props in addition to the already existing Desert West Skatepark. This years course had a car obstacle, complete with a hubba ledge, two handrails, and a bank to flat gap.

» Lords of Dogtown

After the success of skate legend Stacy Peralta's documentary "Dogtown and Z-Boys," apparently the bigwigs at Sony/Columbia Pictures became interested in portraying this crucial period in skateboard history on the big-screen. I was lucky enough to be invited to a sneak-peek screening of the movie, set to release in June 2005.
