In this era of constant bashing and negativity in BMX, we lost one of the most positive and supportive members of the community today.
Wendy Winkelman, so well known for many of the BMX web sites (Phantom, Team Intense, RoyWinkelman.com, and many others) passed on tonight due to a terrible blood virus according to her son Roy.
Wendy had been in the hospital for a while due originally to a liver infection. Unfortunately, just as they thought they'd gotten that under control, other infections and complications set in.
Wendy was one of the most supportive, especially of my work, and I'll truly miss her positivity and kind support.
I'm hoping that we see Roy and pops at a race soon.
