REDLINE PRESS RELEASE:
Although there’s a big black stripe on the back of the Redline jersey – it might as well be a huge round target. Because once again, for the second straight year, the Redline trio of Hayahsi, Carne$ and Harris are heading in to the ABA Grands leading pro point standings. And with some tough competition nipping on their heels, it is bound to be another nail-biting season finale’ in Tulsa, Oklahoma - on Thanksgiving weekend.
PRO GIRL BATTLE
Will Kim Hayashi be able to break her dreaded No.4 curse in the ABA? For the past two years, she has ran a No.4 on her plate - after an impromptu crash in the Grands main keeps ending her hopes for the National Championship. To nab the elusive ABA title, Lil’ Kim will have to do the following three things: 1] Make the Girl Pro main, 2] Keep the bike upright, rubber-side down, and 3] Beat Samantha Cools, the reigning No.1 Champ from last year. All season long, these two have been at it, neck to neck. In NBL, they split the No.1’s.
At the final regular-season showdown in Phoenix, Hayashi was clearly more dominant than Cools – but neither of them could catch the “spoiler” – Alice Jung. With wins both days at the Fall’s, Hayashi’s original mentor demonstrated that she is at the top of her game going in to Tulsa, and that Kim and Sam will both have to factor her in to their points equation.
VET PRO BATTLE
In the Vet ranks, 3-consecutive No.1 title holder Jason Carne$ finds himself sitting in the hot seat – something that he has become very familiar with. And charging hard behind him is his arch-nemesis and former Redline teammate Todd Parry. In Phoenix, Jason ended his season with two more wins, but Utah’s Parry was a man on a mission (no pun intended).
As announcer Mike Redman said to the crowd at the Fallnationals, “There is no love-loss between these two.” Does Jason actually refer to T.P as a “meathead” ? And did Parry get in Carne$ face in the infield, over something he thought was said in reference to his riding? Believe us when we tell you, that both of these guys want that No.1 plate as bad as the other.
Throughout 2005, Carne$ has had closer-than-usual battles with the younger, up and coming competition and double-A’s moving in to the Vet ranks. And with a bum knee that is scheduled for surgery right after the Grands, Jason has shown slight signs of struggle. But he’s been there before and has always pulled it off. The pressure of chasing the shiny silver cup is nothing new to him. Whereas Todd Parry, a bulky older amateur who turned pro three years ago, has been fighting the uphill battle to the top – and has won his share of races along the way.
In WWF fashion, the Carne$ -vs- Perry scenario will be one to watch in Tulsa.
AA-PRO BATTLE
Defending No.1 Pro champ Bubba Harris comes in to the Grands this year with an incredible 21 wins and an 87% podium ratio. Only five times this year has Bubba not placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd when he’s made the main. And furthermore, only twice has he failed to make the main at all! 33 times out of 38 attempts, Harris has stood on the top-three tiers of ABA’s custom alluminum podium, and he plans to continue doing it in Tulsa.
But coming on strong right now, after recovering from his mid-year knee surgery, is Texan Kyle Bennett. Ever since the three Redline Cup Finals, Bennett’s been the biggest threat to whether or not Bubba keeps the No.1 plate zipped to his bars.
In Phoenix, Bubba and Bennett split the wins – Harris got it on Saturday, Kyle won it on Sunday. And they will no doubt be grip-to-grip in Tulsa, chasing down their place in BMX history. With a 201 point lead, Bubba’s advantage is that he has a 1-position buffer. If Kyle were to win, the top-seeded Redline pro could still take the title with a 3rd place score. Of course – Bub’, like all other pro athletes, is not planning on placing any worse than first.
Without a doubt, this years’ Pro battle is bound to be a good one – with two of the most talented AA-pros at the top of their game, goin’ at it, at the Greatest BMX Race on Earth.

Take our Redline word for it – you WILL NOT want to miss out on this one. And if you do, you’ll definitely want to listen to the action going down Sunday afternoon via the live internet webcast on IsportsTV.com! (Tune in around 5:00 cst)
