Headed out to the Four-Stroke Pro National in Surprise, Arizona this weekend.Take a look at my summary of the race. |
In a quest for ever increasing scope of ISTV action sport coverage I went out to the SpeedWorld MX Raceway Park in Surprise, Arizona. I met up with ABA's Shannon Gillette for the “Weekend of Thunder” four-stroke pro national motocross event. The race featured four stroke pro motocross with some open format (two and four stroke allowed) amateur racing thrown in to give the pros a break between motos.
Like BMX, a class that is growing more and more popular is the lady’s division. The girls displayed a varied degree of abilities and the top riders were flying over the huge jumps right along with their male counterparts.
The amateur side featured novice, intermediate and mini classes. The groms also displayed the diverse riding skill as they do in BMX. Some found it a bit challenging to finish a complete lap while others, such as number 800 pictured here, had no problems airing out the huge 80 foot step up on the far straight.
